FPS Inclusivity Statement and Policies

We are an inclusive synagogue. Our community is made all the richer by our members of different backgrounds, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, sexualities, nationalities and races. Inclusiveness is an essential value of our synagogue life here at FPS, led and championed by Rabbi Rebecca, all FPS employees and our Council. If you have any questions about what support is in place or if there is anything that we can do to enable you to access FPS more easily, please do contact our administrator in the first instance

Our policies which follow are all informed by our principles and our values. At FPS, there are three main ‘pillars’ that guide and support everything we do. They are:

  • Sacred Moments, that mark our rites of passage and festivals and that lift our existence, through prayer and learning
  • Community, the power and love in our FPS relationships and in belonging to our wider Jewish community
  • Justice: the ongoing expression and renewal of our relationship with causes of justice in the wider world

These important ‘pillars’ are underpinned by our values of for example inclusiveness, justice, continuous improvement, support, community & safeguarding which are lived and kept alive by our integrity, our empathy and kindness, our collaboration and the high standards we hold ourselves to.

Our policies are all designed to enable our pillars to reflect our values and to make sure we conduct ourselves correctly in the fairest, safest, most supportive and inclusive way possible.
