I have been a member for many years and now have the privilege and honour of being the President of our synagogue.

Attending Council meetings shows how committed its members are to making our synagogue a vibrant community.

Alex Kinchin-Smith

I was very involved in the Liberal youth movement (LJY-Netzer) for many years, working for the movement full time after a gap-year in Israel. Formerly from Kingston Liberal, I joined Finchley Progressive some 20 years ago. I live in North Hertfordshire with my wife Paula and two boys: Jacob and Asher.

Simone Lee

I joined FPS after my son, Adam, returned from his first  LJY-Netzer camp singing Hebrew songs. Liberal Judaism's inclusive values, as embodied by FPS, sit very well with my family;  we have enjoyed a sense of belonging, friendship, rich learning, fun and opportunities to contribute meaningfully within the wider community.

Viktoria (aka Wika) Dorosz

This is my second ‘stint’ on Council. I am currently responsible for our twinning with Keshet, the Jewish community in Mogilev (Belarus), the Rosh Chodesh Group and the Library. I also work with Beit Tefillah (Rites and Practices).

Louise Gellman

I am joint Vice Chair at FPS with special responsibility for our Ivriah (religion school), working with our head teacher Adele and our young, inspiring teachers to deliver an enriching and fun experience for our children. I’ve always been involved in Liberal Judaism, and am delighted that my two girls are now going to camps and events run by our youth movement, LJY-Netzer, as I did in my teenage years.

In the 30 odd years I have been a member of FPS, I have served on several committees, but this will be my first time on Council.   As a co-opted member.  I hope to contribute my acquired knowledge of life, people and organisations, to aiding FPS continuing its progress of going from strength to strength.

Jacquie Fawcett

I am married with two adult children. I am an A-level teacher and as Council member I co-ordinate the Contacts and Care Group of the synagogue.

Josie Kinchin

I have been a member of FPS since childhood and my grandchildren are fourth generation FPS members. My working life was teaching and latterly IT Support and my voluntary involvement in FPS over 50+ years has reflected my working life. I ran the Synagogue Guide Company, taught in Ivriah and have been a member of various groups and committees and twice held the role of Chairperson. Currently I am the Honorary Secretary and I also work with Beit Tefillah.

I have been a member of the synagogue for a few years now and have recently joined the FPS Council. As part of my role on the Council I cover a wide angle of security related tasks. These include CST liaison, radios and other equipment. I am currently looking at refreshing the synagogue's security procedures in line with the latest CST recommendations.

Martin Silk A 'convert' to Liberal Judaism I met Jenny at LJS and we joined FPS about 30 years ago. Currently Honorary Treasurer I have previously served on Council. In the past I have organised sessions and outings for Kabbalat Torah groups, co-ordinated the Mitvot rota and organised events at FPS.
