Summer at FPS

Summer at FPS is quiet. We know people are relaxing with their clans, taking time to rejuvenate, travel, and relax. It's a welcome custom we have of recalibrating ourselves during the weeks of high summer. Taking a pause and that second cup of coffee with a book after breakfast might be just what the soul needs after the fast pace of life, work and school. Even for a few days.

But if you feel a pull towards us, we are still here. Our services on Friday Night and Shabbat morning still run, occasionally taking place in the garden or our sukkah when the weather obliges.

If you’re in need of some inspiration, do listen to Rabbi Rebecca’s Pause for Thought on Coming of Age summers and the joy of laziness, or pick up If All The Seas Were Ink by Ilana Kurshan which she thoroughly recommends!

The quiet season soon departs, and we head into our wonderful and busy autumn of Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah. So many opportunities for joy and reflection with the community.

We’re also launching a New Ten – ten Jewish experiences or skills throughout September that we will then put into practise during the 10 days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Find out more here.

See you soon!
